the switch might not be broken...
the switch in the door should be disabled, but the one on the center console
might not be--it's that way on my '91 200q, though i don't recall on my
former '87.  the switch in the door is illuminated if the switch is
enabled--red tinting behind the white sillouette (sp?) usually visible only
at night.
