5. What is your favorite type of wax?

-Haven’t decided with Clear Coat/Pearl paint. The Zymol
liquid works well on this car. Meguirers cleaner/wax doesn’t
do so good on this car. Still looking for ulitimate on this
car. On old Audi Coupe with red/unclear coat paint, Megs
fine cut cleaner and Yellow Wax was AWESOME and necessary. With this car, too
much work to do all that.
-any Johnson Wax product(my brother in law is a chemist
there & the products are free)
       -Meguir's Yellow Carnuba
-Liquid Glass, best stuff out there (if you can find it)
       -Meguires (sp?)
       -Mother's Carnuba.
       -Rain Dance/Turtle Wax
-Liquid Glass (Not to be confused with infommercial stuff)
-Haven't found one yet. Last used Blue Coral w/Fomblin-A
       -Turtle Wax
       -Zymol
-Meguiars carnuba (Zymol's nice but since my car needs paint, it's not worth
        the expense at this point).
       -Meguiar's Deep Crystal
       -McGuires with carnuba
       -Zymol

6. What is your favorite type of leather conditioner / cleaner?

        -Lexol

        -Zymol

7. Favorite carpet / upholstry cleaner?

-Eureka mini shampoo vacuum “Little Green Machine”
        -Servicemaster
-The local detail shop takes care of this for $20 when it
         gets real dirty
        -Don't clean it.
-Good Old Woolite in a spray can
        -Resolve
        -Resolve
        -Color back
        -Tuff Stuff
        -Diluted Simple Green.
-Tide, water, and a wet 'n' dry vac.
-leather so only carpet applies, Woolite

8. Armour All for the trim and tires? GOOD OR BAD?

        -Ok once n a while
        -Prefer the Turtle Wax equivalent
        -BAD
        -BAD
        -Use on occassion
-Never use Armour All. Usually some kind of Petroleum based
         Black Again product....
-BAD!!! (makes outside trim turn white)
-Although I keep looking for something else, I must admit sometimes I come
back to it for ease of use. Black chrome seems to last
         longer on exterior plastic.
        -Bad
-Trim yes, tires bad. No shiny tires for me thanks!
-For trim, yes. For tires, NO!
        -Tires, Yes; trim, No.

         last.
        -BAD
        -Good
        -Good

        -Absolutely Yes
        -never used Rain X
-I use Amway Hard Surface Protectant
        -RAIN X good.
-Swear by it. However Rain-X does not work well with the guy who can repair
         chipped windshields.
        -NOT.
        -YES
-Was an enthusiastic user until reading some negatives on this list. Now
unsure if I want to use it on my just installed
         new windshield.
-Nope. I use some similar stuff from Amsoil at times.
        -Haven't tried the stuff yet.
        -Yes, including headlights and taillights
-I have used and sung praises for Rain-X for over 10 years. Prestone just
came out with their version and I think it might actually
be better - to put on and last!
        -No RAIN X
-Rain X on headlights and side windows
        -No Rain X

10. Do you wash your car by hand, or go to an automatic car wash?

        -HAND!
-more by hand than car wash
-By hand, or to detail shop which washes it by hand.
-Yes. By hand... carwash in winter
        -Hand
-Always by hand and in summer, In winter I use the High powered
Spray. Never an Automatic, They usually use too little
water to soak it at first, then the cloth they drag over it
usually has dirt in it that will eventually scratch the
hell out of the top panels of your car.
        -Hand.
-Mostly by hand... 1 in 10 auto
        -GEEEZ!! By hand, nachurully.
-Summer by hand(Sponge bath) Winter by hand(Do it yourself
         spray booth)
-By hand - anything else is putrid sacriledge
        -By hand
-By hand only. Period. Automatic car washes suck.
-BOTH, Hand in summer, auto in winter, wax by hand
        -By hand
        -By hand

11. Best way to clean the wheels (fav. wheel cleaner)?

-Just tried the Armor All spray it on hose it offf stuff.
Worked amazingly well. Also, there is some STP Citrus degreaser that is
        great.
-sandblast (my wheels are a mess from accumulated brake
dust. Would love to know if someone has a product that
        really works)
       -P21, or Amway LOC
       -P21S
       -SOS Pads
-Armour All Silver Eagle I think is what it's called ? the mother's
        Wheel cleaner sucks.
       -elbow grease
       -Griot's Garage wheel cleaner
       -Armorall's QuickSilver
-Eagle one with a toothbrush and wax after.
-Strong detergent type of cleaner where you need to blast them with water
after twenty seconds. It's the best cleaning available for
        brake dust.
-Simple Green, stiff 2" paintbrush, hose.
-Scrub brush w/car wash water. If ya washes ever' week, 's no problema...
        Wax 'em afta
-Espree wheel cleaner before the wash
-Soap and Water and Tooth Brush

12. Best way to clean the engine area (fav. products)?

        -Citrus degreaser or GUNK degreaser
        -Never cleaned the engine
        -Detail Shop's Labor
        -No pref.
-The car wash engine cleaner usually works pretty good here,
I leave the car running and be carefull where I spray.
-Don't do it unless REALLY necessary - then use Gunk's
         cleaner.
-Use a biodegradable degreaser with a toothbrush
-For the plastic parts, I just use armor all on a rag . Other than that, I
         don't detail the engine.
-Pyroil engine degreaser if I have to clean up a major mess (blown CV boot,
etc.) otherwise Simple Green with a Dupont 7 car wash
         chaser.
-Carb cleaner. lots of rags, a screwdriver to remove things. You try using
gunk and a pressure washer on an Audi and it'll stay parked
for a long time while you try to come up with enough money
         to fix it.
-No, cuz the solvents will eat the wax protective coating in the engine bay
-simple green and a small brush if needed

        -B. Most of the time
        -"B"

-usually quite clean at all times
        -Summer, Always Winter, whenever possible.
        -"A"
        -"A" Always
        -C. 50/50 split
