Yeah, it's probably the Audi gods. I remember my now-8-year-old Toyota had 
the same problem when I took it home (bought new). The turning lights and 
the rear break lights (all plastic) were ALL starred (that's total of *6* 
lenses!). I took back the next day -- the dealer was baffled, of course, 
since both front and rear was affected. The Toyota gods must knew that I 
wasn't and never will be a loyal follower.
