Re[2]: corrado
i think you guys need to research a little bit more about what
happened behind the scenes with the corrado before sending in
the pit bulls... that's if you even care about the truth.
i can go dig up those articles but i fear that it will just
fall on deaf ears, so i don't think i will bother.
--I do remeber that when the automotive press reviewed the
--Corrado, they thought the moving wing was an amusing
--gimick. But when they reviewed the 911 (carrera2 &4) they
--thought it was engineering genius.
--Actually, I have a corrado and think the real reason for
--"retracting" is rearward visability when parking or backing
--out of driveways. The wing was never intended to produce
--downforce, simply reduce drag. Remember, the car's top
--speed (140 mph) was one of its big marketing points when
--the corrado was first released.
--Rod Wiggins
i don't really care about the moving wing either, but at
least i know that it was done that way for a sound reason.
perhaps in the US/UK the 45 mph is a waste of time.
the german ones go into effect at 75, which is where the
benefits come in.
