Time to go to Aero 101 Bob.... Where exactly did you get this load of BS?

Drag increases with the Square of Velocity. The "Downforce" That your
rear spoiler creates is probally somewhere in the order of twice the
weight of the spoiler (Maybe 20lbs) the drag that it creates at 40mph is
probally around 22lbs at 60 it's like 45 lbs and at 100 it like 125 lbs.

As for the argument that a hollow type spoiler is'nt very efficient for
drag reduction because of turbulence. That's flat out wrong. Ever watch
F-1? Ever Notice the "Barge Boards" Behind the front tires? they are a
"Hollow Spoiler" and they are there to reduce drag.... The "Hollow
Spoiler" is a VERY useful aerodynamic tuning device to lower the overall
drag of the car. I did the Aero "Tuning" on 2 Trans-Am cars, 6 Showroom
Stock Cars (Including the SCCA National Champ Miata, 7 mph faster on the
straight after we finished) and the entire Rossi and NO Fear (Including
the VR!) teams for 3 years (Part of our "Unfair Advantage")

Later!
