FWIW, the trip computer in my '87 4kcsq never gave accurate numbers for MPG
or miles to empty--always optimistic by about 15-20%, compared to actual
mileage/fuel pump calculations.  I wouldn't trust the computer (tho in my
'91 200q, the thing's dead on!)
