I want an Avant!

... well, from the 173 messages I just deleted from my mail tool I appear to
be back ... they tell me there was some kind of problem with netcom.  From
other messages I've seen posted it almost seems like some kind of network
flu virus going around!

On the way to work this morning I was thinking about the fact that I often
refer to the '88 as an Avant, but it doesn't say that anywhere on the car.
I'm wondering if it is possible to acquire the chromed badging that appears
on the car in all other portions of the world here in the US.  Has anyone
in the US attempted to do this?  Would it be as simple as contacting rela-
tives in Canada?  I guess I'll have to take out the fiche tonight and see
if it shows such badging ... I know that if it does there the part numbers
are guaranteed to be missing ...

Yessir, this is a rare car.  I don't even see a listing for an Audi 5000CS 
Avant in the book, but that's what the badge says on the back.  Gotta be 
worth much more than them S4s and V8 Quattros ... they're listed.  ;)
