Stone Chips.....
Hi Dan,
You mentioned stone chip damage on the rear quarters ?
On my wifes 89 100 Avant and my ex 89 100 Sedan I fixed
that problem by getting a can of rubberized black paint.
It's kind of a semi-flat/gloss....
Then repainted the black colored rocker panel from behind
the front wheel opening all the way to the front of the rear
wheel opening.
Then if you look at the rear bumper below the black molding,
there is a crease about half way down. I masked from the crease
on up and painted from the bottom of the crease down.
It looks factory, because the crease matches the rocker panel
line under the doors.
I had planned to do this on the newly acquired V8. But it's already
been done by the factory with a black rubber molding :-)
I'd be willing to send Bob Damato a picture of the Wagon if somebody
wants to see what it looks like before they go painting there cars :-)
I personally think it looks better than the lines of paint that were missing
from the rear quarter from constant sand plasting off the rear wheels....
Dan you have a 4000Q correct ? I hope this applies to your car as well....
