Horsepower on the Audi 1.8 L 5-valve Turbo is 150 (DIN) at 5700 rpm.  The
amazing part, though, is the torque curve.  It peaks at 210 NM at only 1750
rpm and then holds constant to 4600 rpm.  That's a lot of area under the
curve.  These specs make it sound a lot like 4/5 of an S6 engine with 100% of
the valves.

The engine is currently in use in the A4 in Europe.  Tuners are already
getting 200-230 hp with little hardware modification.  200+ hp is available
wothout changing the turbo.  A bigger intercooler and new chip are the basic
ingredients.  Audi has also announced a 210 hp version, ostensibly for use in
the TTS roadster.
