5KT Heater Core Replacement
-- [ From: Lester B. Lampman * EMC.Ver #2.5.02 ] --
I've had heater core replacement done it on two different 5Ks. Core comes
out the engine side of firewall. About an hour plus for knowledgeable
mechanic. Emphasis on knowledgeable (Les Sr.).
Audi drivers are the best on the road...most courteous,, rare tailgaters,
almost always use turn signals, and go fast (ditto when I'm in the Audi)
when it's safe to do so.This observation is from a LARGE sample size. My
wife and I drive our 18 wheeler Freightliner 4500-5000 miles a week covering
all 48 states, and that's many million miles. When we're not in the
Freightliner we're driving the V8Q...and grinning from ear to ear! The
recent post startled me, and seems more typical of a chrome loaded 4x4
driven by a wet-behind-the-ears high school kid. An 80,000 pound truck with
topnotch driver, dry pavement, level ground, good ABS, and everything
perfect takes about a football field length to stop... 'nuff said. If a
tailgater hits a truck in the rear it will generally jack-knife no matter
what the driver does... and stop very abruptly. The physics involved with an
80,000 truck and 3,000 pound car wrapped up in a ball can better be
explained by some of the more knowledgeable listers...drive smart, drive
safe, and save the cowboy stuff for the track or wide open spaces. Sorry for
the bandwidth, but had to say it. (Les Jr)
