If it is the brake light switch, yes, it's an easy (relatively) swap. Remove
the parcel shelf on the drivers side, & remove the heater duct running accross
the footwell. Then follow up the brake pedal, & you'll see a switch that looks
kinda like a door jamb dome-light switch. That's the rascal. Just be sure you
set the distance on the new switch correctly, if you don't the lights will come
on after too hard a pedal push, or will always be on. You set the distance
when you're installing the switch by screwing it a certain distance through
it's holder.

Yup, buy a new one. They aren't easily fixeable, although it is possible...
Mine busted, I went to a boneyard & picked one up for $50. Any '84 - '88 5K,
turbo or non-turbo will work. An interim fix is rubber bands, popsicle sticks,
or an empty box of cigarettes behind the beast.
