Eric - just go to yore neighborhood fren'ly parts store, podnur, and
read the labels. I found that Prestone makes a 4/60 (4-years, 60K
miles) anftifreeze which lists NO phosphate (pricey, but for 2
gallons, wottheheck.) Others were labeled as safe, but when looking
in the the ingredients, I found a phosphate-related ingredient.
Perhaps Bob at WVIT can stroll past such an establishment and
comment on whether the common ingredient is a problem or not.
I just can't remember the ingredient name - but found it odd that
the derivative chemical name was on the label and it also said "Safe
to use in Aluminum engines..." or words to that effect.
As Dan S. says, the long-life antifreeze is in a silver jug, and also
is NOT green - kind of a bronze color.
