S6 & A8

On the matter of the genetleman who posted the message about audi
agreeing to swap his bad A6 for an S6. If I remember his original
posting he said that all had been allocated to
dealers. If correct, this means that no cars are under the control of
Audi of North America but al belong to dealers. Even though all of us
can find new S6s for him to buy (there are 7 about an hour from me)that
is a bit different from the North american office having cars at its
disposal. There is no incentive for me as a dealer to give AoA one of my
extremely rare S6s that I will hopefully have a customer for in the next
month or so--unless AoA cuts me a deal on an extra allocation of A4s--or
dare I say--A8s.

On the issue of the A8, from today's Chicago Tribune: "Audi also will bring
out a full-sized aluminum-body A8 sedan in the fall that will
feature an industry first: six air bags--two for front seat occupants for
frontal-impact protection, two for front-seat side impacts and two for
rear seat side impacts." Take that ovolV!!
