875KTQ list of problems

Hello friends,

I am losing the battle to stem the deterioration of my much-loved 875KTQ.
Here are the challanges I am facing right now.

1. High, sometimes pulsing idle. I've cleaned the idle stablizer with no
significant effect. Should I replace this item or look elsewhere (O2 sensor
maybe)

B. Ripped left outer CV boot. I'm just procrastinating on this one due to
lack of good shop space and a lift. I've previously posted this and thank
you all for the tips on how to do this job.

III. Squealing belt. I've tightened everything and it still squeals.
Probably needs to be replaced.

4. Defroster has turned evil. When I turn it on it fogs up everything. No
coolant smell. Ample volume from vents. I'm stumped on this one.

E. The trip computer just tripped out. At the end of a 400 mile trip, the
MPG and MPH readings went nuts. Actually it looks like they are off by one
order of magnitude. Instead of average MPH of 40, it claims 400. Is there
anything to do here?

I feel these are all minor (and relatively inexpensive) problems. Otherwise,
she runs well and goes fast (until the overboost shut-off)

I appreciate all the help, both direct and implied, from all of you listers.

Thanks,
Ted Blank
