UFO to regular brake conversion

OK, has anyone actually done this UFO (internal caliper) to regular 
brake conversion outside of warranty and in recent memory? I'm trying to 
locate a source for parts.  I've got one place in New York I'm supposed to 
try (VW Parts Inc.), but was hoping to find someone in WA state.  Linus 
Toy's info was greatly helpful, but I can't seem to find anyone who could 
actually take my money.  

Also, has anyone done the replacement to the current titanium coated UFOs? 
If so, how have they held up?
