QCUSA/PIR driving event price

There was a time when the Oregon Region Porche club had several
driving events a year at PIR. This was before the track was used for the
annual CART race and the price of insurance was a less significant part of
one's budget. As I recall the price was about $35-50. As I point out,
that was a while back. From this reference point, $250 seem like a lot
of bucks. With three cars in the garage in various states of upgrade,
a new kid on the way :>), and a long list of home improvements, $250
for a driving event just has to take the back seat to other projects.
To bad :<(
On the other hand, the "lessons" from those driving events
have probably equipped me with the skills to avoid several shunts during
the following years. I especially liked the days when it was raining
because it was real easy to get my 911 side-ways at low speed (less risk
of damage if I didn't get un-side-ways again!).
