I had two of the problems you describe...and solved both with help from list
members.

The fogging is probably caused by a broken spring on the recirculation door.

The air out of defrost vents and clicking sound at the AC Programmer are
both signs of the same problem...
A bad A/C programmer.
Carlsen Audi sells a new one for a little over $200.
This may be your best bet as a rebuilt one would be $135 or more and may be
hard to find.
This is apparently a very common failure, so it may not be worth it to look
for a used one at the boneyard.
