in other parts of the world, what was sold as the audi 5000 here was
sold as the audi 100 CD.  i don't remember what the other sub
designations were, but the 100 CD was the top of the line 100.  (5000
turbo was 200, of course).  there were 5 bangers of 2.0 liter
capacities too.

a wild guess would be that the 5000 CD is of canadian market origins....
