'87 5kTQ Rear brakes???

Alrighty, I've got a small problem with my right (passenger side) rear caliper.
It's been quite sticky lately, I figured the E-brake was too tight. I crawled
under the car Saturday, looked at the E-brake cables, saw a huge bubble in the
right cable. Sure enough, the lever on the caliper was pulled quite a ways off
it's stop, so I just completely removed the cable from the lever, since I never
use the E-brake in the winter anyway. Linda will be sending me new cables
later this week. The lever on the caliper moved very freely, so I was happy.
However, the caliper still sticks! I don't get it. If the lever moves
freely, how can the caliper still be stuck? The car stops straight, so I don't
think the caliper is stuck in a certain position, but I guess ya never know.
I'm getting horrible mileage right now, plus I've got nothing left of a rotor
or brake pads on that side, so I gotta get this fixed ASAP. Suggestions
anyone? TIA.
