The valve that controls the flow of coolant through the heatercore is
not closing all the way, very typical. Git under the hood and push that little
lever on the valve all the way to the stop. Ultimately, you should adjust
the cable and/or replace it, 'cause every time you move the temp control
from MAX cold it will fail to close the valve 100% when you move it back
to MAX cold. Air flows through the heatercore in these cars 100% of the time
regardless of the temp control setting, so for cold air and A/C you must be
sure that coolant flow control valve is 100% closed. The valve is located
right in front of the firewall and in-line with one of the heater hoses.
