Well, yes.

I was talking to a guy who crewed for a 24 hours of Nelson Ledges VW 
Wabbit GTi, and he said that he didn't like the studs.  He said that they 
failed a couple of sets at the race.

Get this now, they actually *tore* themselves out of the brake drum.  The 
studs themselves didn't break, the drum did.  He switched them back to 
the bolts, and everything went fine for the duration of the 24 hr race.

He says "There must be something *to* them wheel bolts after all.  Dunno 
what though..."

In other news, I had been running the stud kit on the 
little-4KS-that-could for quite a while with absolutely no problems at 
all.  The studs are a nice piece to hang the wheel from whn changing 
tires, and you autocrossers know about that one!
