Hmmmm seems to me that threaded rod is threaded rod! Cant imagine what 
made it do that, but I doubt it was due to the fact that it was a stud 
and not a bolt.


How about putting just one stud per wheel? This way here you can hang the 
tire and use your studs for the rest.
