Harvey:

Not to be a wise guy, but, did you turn the ABS off???  The Coupe Quattro 
has an ABS off switch along the bank of foglight switches below the center
dash vents.

ABS is also automatically disabled when the rear differential is locked.

Perhaps the ABS switch is jammed??

OTOH, the ABS should be automatically re-enabled when the car is re-started...
