Ok,

I actually took my Powerbook out and recorded the strange squealing on
startup...and, as an extra bonus, I caught the elusive vacuum pump knock too!

I have AIFF, Mac SND, and WAVE up there (sorry, no AU).  For Mac people, the
server on that machine isn't configured to handle binhex...so be sure to use
"Save this link as" under Netscape (or equiv) or the binhex will just dump to
your screen.

I'm looking forward to comments. (wow...I really am a geek..didn't realize..)
