More Radio stuff....

Info for 89-91 100/200's (maybe others, too)

Al Powell wrote about his radio install and the mysterious brown wire with white
stripe. Semi-important info here: This wire is only present in the sedan
section in the Bentley. If you look in the "Additional wiring" section in the
back for the wagons it is not shown there. In reality (ie, the car) there is a
br/wht wire and it does go to the security system. The security system section
mentions there is a connection to the radio, but doesn't identify it. Nor does
it include it in the trouble shooting section like it does with the other
sensors.

There are other differences between the Sedan/Avant. The sedan has separate,
powered speakers; the Avant has a single amp, then the speakers. This changes
the connections somewhat.

There are also a few black wires with white stripes that have leftover
connectors. For all you do-it-yourselfers with the radio install this really is
a case of "too many parts" or "parts leftover".

One question for the sedan owners: Is there really a "headphone unit" on the
rear deck? I didn't believe it for the US models, but I saw one on a junked '84
200 in a german 'yard.
