Aux light mounting below bumper on 200TQW
Peter,
You can mount lights under the bumper on the 5000/200 TQ's by using a 1" dia. hole saw and drilling
through the thin plastic spoiler/fascia and then drilling into the plastic (5000) or aluminum (200)
bumper. I mounted some PIAA 959 round fog lamps under my 5000 Turbo. I located them under
the bumper to line up (side to side) with the inner edge of the headlamp assembly. You need to be
careful not to block any airflow to the oil cooler on the left side.
I don't know how big the PIAA 1200 lights are but you need to be careful when mounting to
ensure they don't stick out past the front of the bumper. (duh!) The 959 mounting brings them pretty
close to the front edge of the bumper. I had them on for over two years and did not have any
problems with scraping when entering driveways nor did I have any problems with parking lot
smashups. Good luck.

Subject: Anybody fitted driving lights on a 91 200?
Has anybody fitted driving lights on a 91 (or same body style) 200?
I'm looking at the PIAA 1200's to fit under the bumper in the black
grille there, but according to a mechanic at a Negherbon in Oakland,
they won't fit in there because of some structural bracing behind it.
Any other ideas? I don't want lights perched on top of the bumper...
Thanks.
