Graydon sez: The bushing has a large steel ball inside that pivots in

first time i crawled under the front of mine i looked for about 10 secs         
and said, "holy crap! either something fell off or audi took design             
lessons from colin chapman himself."  i couldn't believe they were using        
the sway bar as a locating link.  that may also have something to do with       
the steering/suspension feel of the big audis.  i still don't understand        
why the sway bar doesn't squirm a lot in those rubber center bushings.          
otoh, those control arms are pretty sturdy looking.
