Basically a true story for the U.S. (and Canada as well, I believe). It's
called "Audi Assurred." As you might expect, the cost for this will be
buried in the price of the car. Even so, if the price is right, it can't
hurt to have a warranty on a used Audi.
Some particulars. The dealer inspects and reconditions the car to a standard
set by Audi. Warranty is 12 months/12,000 miles, bumper-to-bumper, but it
does not include normal preventive maintenance. A 2 year/24,000 mile
powertrain warranty is also included, as is a two-year roadside assistance
program.
Interestingly, this deal is also available if you lease the used car from
them. Sort of a risk-minimizing way to have a trial marriage to a used Audi.
If things work out, you buy it. If not, give them back the keys when it's
over.
