hydraulic pump rebuilt by ZF

The subject of the hydraulic pump leaking has been discussed many
times before but today I got some interesting news which I want 
to share with the list:
the hydraulic pump on my 200Q modell89 part no 034 145 155 C is
leaking from the 'X' screws just slightly.
My local AUDI dealer offered a new pump for 435$ plus labour and he
stated that there is no rebuilt kit available. The only chance is to
replace the complete pump. I called the AUDI service telephone and 
they basically sayed the same thing: No chance for repair , go get
a new pump.
My next step was to call ZF , the manufacture of the pump , and they
have rebuilt kits and also a rebuilt service available. The guy from
ZF also mentioned that only changing the rings for the 'X' screws 
doesn't solve the problem for long. The 'X' screws are leaking because
of an internal failure of the pump and that he couldn't advise to do a
complete rebuilt at home because the pump does have to be adjusted 
after the reassembly. The ZF service centers in Germany do offer a 
complete rebuilt of the pump for 230$ which sounds reasonable 
considering the labour involved. I'm not sure about ZF service
centers in other parts of the world but I think it't worth a try to
find out.
