Re: Ur-Q online reg, pass 2

What is the goal of this registry flurry anyway? Do we want to know
how many people on the list have a particular car? Do we want to
collect information about how well certain mods work on urQs? That
is the sort of info that I'd like to see. It'd be cool to be able
to look up how many people have tried particular suspension upgrades
and get a subjective evaluation of the benefits. We could collect
data about different boost upgrades (... what DID happen to that urQ
empirical data collection that went on?), what brands and sizes of
tires have been used on what sorts of wheels ... all that kinda stuff.

It sounds like QCUSA has jumped on the info-autobahn. They had some
kind of registry set up for ur-q's. Perhaps they can participate
with info for the on-line registry.

Didn't I hear somewhere that Audi of America offered to provide build
information to owners of ur-quattros? I know that I've asked this
before, but I have yet to hear a positive response. I have been able
to learn some things about my car (like it was originally sold either
in Michigan or Minnesota), and get small production tidbits from build
tags and microfiche, but it'd be cool to get more. Isn't AOA listen-
ing to this list?

... guess I'll ramble off now! I'll send you my details Dave ...
