hood protector

I need some advice about protecting the paint on the hood of my 
1990 AUDI 90 20V Quattro.  The paint is starting to chip  at the 
front edge most likely 
due to road debris and I have been trying to keep on top of it by 
applying touch up paint on affected areas.  I am getting tired of 
this and thought I would try a contoured hood protector (e.g., bug 
deflector).  I have one on my minivan and its great.  Looks okay and 
protects the front of the hood and even deflects lovebugs.

I called the local auto parts stores here in Gainesville Florida and 
everyone says that a contoured hood protector is unavailable for 
AUDIs.  I would appreciate if y'all could provide me advice about 
where to find a contoured protector that would fit my AUDI or feel 
free to provide me with alternative ideas.  Thank you for your
