Plastic bumpers

So My '88 5ktq has plastic bumpers?  Well are they those honeycomb type things
or a plastic version of what would be metal on other cars.

I'm just wondering 'cause with the warmer weather I'm looking to get some lights
of some kind out there.  I've been talking about this for ages I know but the
weather you know.

I would think if they are hoeycomb I'd need to reinforce nuts bolts etc with
fender washers of a plate of some kind.

So just what are these bumpers.
