Re: False Alarm:-(

Mike, does the alarm act flakey if you actuate from the passenger door
lock? If not, you probably have a bad lock linkage on the drivers
door. This happened with my 90 Coupe Quattro(very common). The fix
costs about $25.00 in parts. I did it myslef so I don't know what the
     labor would be.

As far as disabling, try the fuse.

Hi,

The alarm system in my 1990 Quattro Coupe is acting flakey. More often
than not it doesn't set. Sometimes it set when I turn the ignition off.
Most of the time it goes off when I enter the car however, I can reset it
by turning the key in a door lock cylinder. The past few times I have not
been able to start my car. Through a random series of setting and
resetting the alarm, under different scenarios, I manage to get the car
going. I have an appointment with the dealer but until then is there
anyway I can defeat this thing so that I can get it to the dealer.

Thanks for your help.
