Welllll, yeah.  So far my latest guess is the master cylinder...
I originally thought it might be the booster, but if that were going, I
would have felt some sponginess, but I really didn't.  I'm reasonably
sure the master cylinder is going.  D'oh!!!

Well luckily my mechanic has an 84 4ks car less a number of parts sitting
out in front...  Nice for parts picking...  So I may just snag that one, or
just rebuild the one I have.. Hmmmm...  I'll keep you posted, that is if
the Audi gods don't demand my internet connection as payment.  I offered
my first born, just in case.  *grin*
