RE: 91 200'isms
This makes me feel better (well, somewhat). We have that hiss too; it
seems to come from somewhere behind the right rear seat. I just noticed
tonight (missed most of the Sonics game :-( ) that the AM really sucks
and that FM is good as long as there aren't too many obstacles - driving
through a couple of freeway tunnels where our other cars have no FM
trouble threw the Delta radio for a loop. The UFO brakes have shimmied,
but now I intend to do it myself every 12 months/12K miles (according to
the Audi parts and labour warranty) to get them to pay for it. If they
won't cough if up voluntarily in the face of overwhelming evidence, I
guess I'll just have to get it otherwise. According to a few mechanics
I've talked to, that's a well-used practice with the UFO brakes. They do
brake very well now that they're OK though. I've seen 1.7 bar, but
haven't really pushed it yet.
Oh, and to add to the list: it's the only wagon I know of that'll go
through the curve from southbound I5 to westbound I90 on mostly dead,
probably out of round and certainly unevenly worn Invicta GA(g)s at
60MPH+ and still accelerating without a complaint and the only sound
being the owner whooping joyously :-)
