Re: 91 200'isms

I don't know about the altitude differential and turbo pressure, I call it like
I see it. Earlier this year, I drove fairly often in northern Germany,
elevation 10 ft. I recall seeing 1.8 bar a few times. Here in Bavaria (2000')
I've seen it once. It could be those extra 20,000 miles since then though; or
it could just be the factory digital gauge.

Here's a question (in multiple parts) about the gauge: why is it (reputed) to
be inaccurate? Is it a function of the sensor being substandard? Does the
digital indicator/computer miscalculate the values it receives from the sensor?
Does the factory gauge accurately measure/display the pressure in the "wrong"
place in the manifold resulting in an accurate display of an inaccurate pressure
level? Is it simply a matter of "When I change to a different gauge/sensor
set-up, I get different readings. Therefore the old gauge was wrong."? Has
anyone compared the factory gauge to a standard set a la the faucet in "My
Cousin Vinny"---"I set the torque using the same torque wrench that government
inspectors use, that had been calibrated minutes before I used it, ..."
