[4000SQ] soft clutch?
I haven't driven the 4000 sq much in the last 4wks-- trying to get 911 ready
for track. As soon as I feel comfortable with the Porsche, the AUDI goes in
for complete exploratory exam. This weekend when I jumped back in it for a
test drive, the clutch pedal felt real soft!!! Also, I have to put the pedal
to almost to the floor to disengage. My wife has been driving it for the
last week-- but I don't think that was the problem!! It doesn't slip, and
engages fine-- just feels soft. My Porsche has no power assist and carbon
disc, but the Audi has always felt slightly weak to me.. The car has about
85,000mi on it and has never had anywork done on it.(major!!)
Could this be a slave cylinder going bad?? Air in the line?? What about a
weak return spring? Maybe the CLUTCH??? Since I'm getting ready to give this
car to my oldest son, I want to get everything working OK, and not have any
surprises. (I want the car back in a couple of years !!!) I'm making a list
of things to be done to it next week-- any suggestions would be welcomed.!!
What about tires. I'm thinking about BFG HR4s (no R-1s)!!
Thanks for any help.
