This reminds me a funny crank call one of the local radio station DJs made
last year around Indy time. They called one of the local rental places
in Indianapolis and the conversation went something like this:

Rental: Hello, xxxx Car Rental.
Radio DJ: Hi, I was wondering if I could rent a car for next weekend.
Rental: Yes, what size do you need.
Radio DJ: Something like a Thunderbird or Monte Carlo.
Rental: We only have Pontiacs. What about a Bonneville?
Radio DJ: Umm, that's a little too big. What about something powerful?
Rental: We have a Firebird Formula. (and they did, too!)
Radio DJ: That's perfect. Is it available for next weekend?
Rental: Let me check..... (type, type, type). Yes, it is.
Radio DJ: Do you know what the top speed of the car is?
Rental: I'm afraid not. When do you need the car?
Radio DJ: Sunday, May 29th.
Rental: What time will you be picking it up?
Radio DJ: About 10:00am.
Rental: What time will you be returning it?
Radio DJ: Hmm, I guess about 5 hours later or so.
Rental: One day rentals have mileage charge over 100 miles. How many
miles do you expect to put on it?
Radio DJ: Well, how far are you from the raceway?
Rental: About 1 or 2 miles.
Radio DJ: Then it would be just a little over 500 miles.
Rental: OK, that would be about $xxx for the day. Your name please?
Radio DJ: Wait! Am I allowed to do any engine modifications?
Rental: No - that is against the rental policy. You will have to pay for
           any damages or repairs.
Radio DJ: Can the exhaust be removed at least?
Rental: No - as I said, that's against our policy and AGAINST THE LAW!
Radio DJ: What about numbers?
Rental: Numbers?
Radio DJ: You know, on the door and hood?
Rental: Sir, as I said before, if the car is not returned in the condition
you received it, you will be charged for it.
Radio DJ: Fine. Do rent helmets by any chance?
Rental: CLICK!

You really had to hear it. It was one of the funniest crank calls I've
ever heard.
