feel of turbo kicking in

Admitting that I don't know the exact "feel" of how a turbocharger should 
feel when it kicks in, I'm gonna ask you guys.  On my 86 5000CST, I can 
get the boost guage up to 1.2 (max) and the car accelerates pretty well, 
but I don't ever feel that "extra kick" that people talk about of the 
turbo cutting in.  Should it be quite noticeable?  BTW, what should I 
assume to be the 0-60 mph time for this car, if it is in reasonable 
shape?  Just want to check out what I am getting against what I *should* 
be getting.  I still think that the power is lower than it should be.
