One less A4Q
Sorry to announce to the list that there's one less A4Q on the planet as of yesterday afternoon at 3:00pm. I was rear-ended by a less-than-alert '93 Taurus pilot doing over 40mph. No skid marks, no evasive action, just a perfectly centered impact on my one-month-old laser red Quattro.
My wife, three-year-old, and myself walked away with no obvious injuries (some lower back and neck pain -- but nothing broken). The occupants of the Dorf suffered a broken nose, facial abrasions, and airbag burns.
My sweet A4, on the other hand, sacrificed herself for the owners. The tail end was nearly flattened. All four doors were slightly jammed (although we were able to get out without help). The roof was creased slightly behind the sunroof. The passenger compartment was largely unaffected, however the front seats were displaced vertically about 3 inches, the rear about 3-4 inches forward. The CD changer was broken free of it's mounts and landed towards the front of the trunk -- still playing (I didn't even notice the skip!).
All I can say is thank God I bought an Audi!

P.S. - If anyone knows of a Florida dealer with a fully-loaded laser red A4Q on his lot please let me know.
