Well Steve, this may go past your time here on the East, but here goes:
At Lime Rock in CT., on May 24-27, there is a lot going on. The Inaugural
running of the North American Touring Car Championship (NATCC) is that
weekend, along with the Dodge Dealer's Grand Prix, which is co-sanctioned by
SCCA and IMSA.
I called for a program guide/fan guide, and here is what it said about that
weekend:
"The tentative schedule includes the SCCA Barber Dodge Pro Series, IMSA's
Exxon GT classes, SCCA World Challenge, North American Touring Car
Championship, and the Dodge Neon Celebrity Challenge.
Sandwiched between the two days of racing is the Mopar Expo '96, the
Northeast's largest Chrysler auto show and swap meet, with over 200
Chrysler-powered vehicles on display.
For more info, call 800-RACE-LRP or 203-435-5000."
(I know, that sounds like an ad, but it isn't. Usual disclaimers apply.)
I have never been to Lime Rock. I am seriously thinking of going. Sounds
like a good time. And it would be great to see the first NATCC race. Could
be a great show.
Anyway, if you need any more info, e-mail me directly, since I am currently
unsubscribed for a short term.
Also, if anyone else from the Northeast/East is planning on going, perhaps
we can meet up somewhere?
By that time, I'll be in my new job (i.e. promotion!!), and possibly in
another state (i.e. PA, not MA), but would plan on driving up for that
weekend if so be it.
Take care.
Jim
