4k csq malfunctioning wipers

I had been plaged by a problem with the wipers/washers on my 4000csq
for some months.  The wipers would not work in high speed
and the washer pump would not pump.  If I disconnected the pump,
the wipers would work fine and the electrical connector of the pump
would see 12V.  (the pump worked if I applied 12V directlly) Still,
if I connected the washer pump back, the problem returned.

It turns out that the solution was dirty/burnt contacts on the switch
in the steering column.  Although I was not able to disassamble the
switch, I did manage to clean the contacts.  The problem in now gone
and everithing is working fine.  Hope this helps someone with a
similar problem.
