Sorry, fellas. Jet fuel is essentially kerosene. I most definitely
wouldn't recommend it for a gasoline powered engine. It would probably do
ok mixed with diesel fuel.
Avgas is high octane gasoline and will do pretty well in your gasoline
engine. It's been so long since I bought any that I couldn't even begin to
guess the price. It comes in two main flavors, 80 octane and 100 octane. I
seem to recall another higher octane rating also, but it's been so long I'm
kinda fuzzy on it. I'm not sure, but I believe the octane ratings here are
arrived at differently from the ratings at your corner gas station. 80
octane avgas is pretty good stuff. It's also probably illegal to put it in
your car. Highway fuel taxes, etc. :-(
