Re: Radar detector types?

My escort works great. I used to have a cobra that only detected 2 of
the 3 radar bands. Of course I get a ticket and never saw it coming.
Then I bought the escort that detects 3 radar bands and laser and have
been clean ever since. The only complaint I have is that it is not
loud enough. Sometimes my stereo drowns it out. I am thinking of
connecting a remote amplified speaker. It already has a plug for it
and I am going to use one of the OEM rear speaker/amps that I replaced
a few weeks ago. I just need to find a good place to locate it.

Guys, and gals,

Since we are discussing detectors, I have a question to ask.
What detectors do you use, and are you SURE that they are working as
advertised?

I have had an old Bel 836 (rated #1 fro less than $100.00 a few
years ago) and it has worked great. It falses very little, and has
fantastic range. The other weekend when I went to Chicago with my
neighbour to pick up his new 5KCSTQ, we drove back with my old Bel in my
car, and my new Uniden LRD6199SW in his car. It was Mar 30, a beautiful
Sat morning, and the bears were out in force. At least two times, we
passed radar traps that my Bel detected miles ahead. In all cases, the
Uniden was silent! I'm sending that sucker back!

Thanks for your input.
