Dwight,
In my opinion, the cool thing about the early 100LS is the feel of the
"vintage '67 looking" Porsche 911 style VDO dashboard gauges, inboard front
brakes (less unsprung weight), sharp looking body and vintage Audi appeal,
even down to the old chromed chiseled typography badges. Very cool.
Imagine dropping a 91 20v turbo motor, quattro drivetrain and making it
track worthy, then you would really have a one off, "ye old 100LS." (Just
a thought... For $475 bucks and a wrecked 91 20v car, it might cost less
than buying a uniquely used 91 20v'er...) Just for talking fun, another
great one would be to locate an original '72 NSU TT, and put that out on
the track as well. In fact, racers in europe used to campaign that 'ol TT
alot against the likes of the early 2002's.
