Synthetic Oil, Conti CZ91
Hey, kids, there have been a couple of useful threads here recently re:
RedLine in the tranny and diff, and Mobil 1 in the engine. I just had a
wheel bearing replaced at a shop on the Cape (long, good story! Ottowerks,
508.385.2002, ask for Mike, no affiliations, blah, blah) and Mike
recommended using Mobil synth instead of RedLine. Their experience
(empirical, not bench racing like some of us do) was that RedLine makes
shifting "notchy", but is otherwise fine, if perhaps expensive, and Mobil's
synth would be a fine, cheaper, replacement. Who has an opinion based on
firsthand (or thereabouts!) experience that they would like to share here?
Another opinion Mike expressed, that sort of reinforces one I have based on
folklore and a "Contact Patch" article in ec, is that the Conti Sport
Contact CZ91 is an excellent tire. The thread on tires had lots of useful
info on Dunlops, but little comment on Contis. Anyone out there with any
Conti experience?
