My book agrees with Glen on the VIN split, however I don't think they're
interchangeable parts. I say this because the pre#581 P/N(811-407-181A) is
also the same as Vw Foxes/early Quantums and early CoupeGTs etc. I've tried
to stuff the later P/N(811-407-181) into Fox control arms without success. If
you're really after the later bushing design, grab any late control arms from
Coupe/Quantum/Quattro/4000 series cars. I doubt they're worth the hassle from
a performance standpoint though...
A call to John at SportWheels to inquire if his eurothane bushes fit both
early and late cars would answer the compatability question. I doubt he'll
manufacture two versions if it isn't necessary.
