RE: QC Background..... It's Long but worth it.
It certainly makes QCUSA look pretty foolish, greedy and selfish. Just
like you've been saying. In light of the history Karen sent out, maybe
their initial intent to form a club to further quattro-ing was
commendable, but maybe they got wrapped up in the power to be a national
representative for AoA. If so, (BIG if) and if they do come clean,
(another BIG if) we could probably clean up from within. If they remain
obstinate, let's go for the renegade bit. Let's make sure the work from
within bit is hopeless first, however.
Let's define "clean", so they have something to shoot for. I would
recommend a full financial disclosure, like maybe their form 990,
disclosure of the finances for the track events, disclosure of the
finances for the newsletter, disclosure of who the officers and board
are, and brief bios on each, and when the elections were and results.
Eric, In light of your recommendation to keep the pressure applied, I am
posting this to QCUSA and to the list. I hope you don't mind.
Listers, this is taking advantage of Eric without his permission, but I
think we need to help QCUSA out by setting some expectations so they
have a target to aim for in the disclosure we all want. Constant
pressure and fair expectations will probably win in the end.
QCUSA and Karen Chadwick, let's get this back on track, get QCUSA going
in the direction we mutually feel it should be moving, and put this all
behind us.
Sorry for the bandwidth and the out-of context bits...
