I had these on my '83 RX7 autocross car. They were fantastic!
They stopped the car VERY well, and would not fade at all. They did
produce alot of heat though, and on my stock rotors, they would crack
fairly often (once per year). I think that if I had been allowed to use
crossdrilled rotors to take away the heat and the gaseous buildup, the
stock rotors would have been OK.
Carbon Metallics used to require a bedding period in which you
would brake from very high speed a few times until the pads faded, then
stop and let them cool. This would deposit a layer of carbon on the
surface of the rotor, and thereafter, it would act like a true
carbon/carbon brake system. Black rotors looked way cool! (or is that hot?)
