Well, it means your hydraulic system for the power steering and power
brakes is losing pressure. You basically has a very severe leakage
somewhere in the sytem or the system is not holding it's pressure.
Alot of times it's deal to bad pressure accumulator aka the 'bomb'.
I had quite a bit of problem with hydraulic system in the 85' 5000s that
I used to own. Steering rack, pump, hoses, accumulator, and brake servo
booster all been raplaced once some of them were done under warranty,
some of them were not. I remember seeing that light up twice, first time
was bad brake booster servo that's right behind the master cylinder $650
for the part and second time was the bomb about $250 for the part. Make sure
you use Audi Hydrualic fluid or the equivalent. Do not use anything else.
